Returns & Refunds Policy
Swift Chem is committed to supplying quality laboratory chemicals, equipment, and consumables. This policy outlines your rights and our obligations in line with applicable South African consumer law.
1. Your Rights Under South African Law
In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, customers are entitled to receive goods that are:
- Of good quality
- In working order and free of defects
- Suitable for their intended purpose
If a product does not meet these standards, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
2. Returns Period
- You must notify us of any issue within 30 days of delivery.
- Returns must be submitted within this period unless covered under a warranty or the CPA’s implied 6-month warranty on defective goods.
3. Defective or Damaged Products
If your item is:
- Defective due to a manufacturing fault
- Damaged during delivery
- Incorrectly supplied by Swift Chem
You may request a repair, replacement, or refund in line with the CPA. Swift Chem will cover the cost of return shipping in these cases.
4. Incorrect Orders
We may accept returns for incorrectly ordered items at our discretion, subject to:
- The product being unused, unopened, and in original packaging
- A 20% handling/restocking fee
Important: Due to safety and regulatory requirements:
- No returns will be accepted on opened chemicals or reagents
- Please review product specifications carefully before purchasing
5. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return:
- Opened or used laboratory chemicals and reagents
- Hazardous or temperature-sensitive products that have left controlled storage conditions
- Downloadable software
- Selected health and personal care items
6. Condition of Returned Goods
To qualify for any return:
- Items must be in their original condition and packaging
- All accessories, manuals, and documentation must be included
Returns that do not meet these conditions may be rejected or subject to a partial refund.
7. Proof of Purchase
A valid invoice or proof of purchase is required for all returns.
Please do not return goods directly to the manufacturer.
8. Refund Process
Once your return has been received and inspected:
- We will notify you of the outcome
- Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 7–14 business days, depending on your bank
9. Late or Missing Refunds
If your refund has not been received:
- Check your bank account
- Contact your card provider
- Contact your bank

10. Sale Items
Items purchased on promotion or sale may not be eligible for refund, unless defective as defined under the CPA.
11. Exchanges
Exchanges are only offered for:
- Defective items
- Damaged items

12. Return Shipping
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or incorrectly supplied
- Shipping fees are non-refundable
- If a refund is issued for non-defective goods, return shipping costs may be deducted
For items valued over R500, we recommend using a trackable and insured courier service.
